"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander."
I believe, first we need to earn the right to be listened to by accepting people as they are and seeking to love them unconditionally, no matter what their beliefs may be. Our responses should not be influenced by what they say; that is, we need to be a thermostat, not a thermometer.
To be able to "give an answer to everyone who asks you" one has to be well-grounded in the knowledge of the Bible and understand God's purposes for this world. And also be humble enough to admit when I don't have the answer.
In short: We need to be fundies as well as lights.

I think we don't need to be more apt either way.
Teaching is one of the core Christian principles of the Bible. We are to teach and admonish one another. Mutual Teaching and Learning is a part of our faith experience and growing process in the Christian community.
There is several commands and examples for us to teach one another here is just one.
Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

No. I biblically warn anybody that somehow there are biblical philosophizers moonlighting as Bible teachers. So, better investigate first before involving in them inasmuch as the end is near.

A "fundie" is merely someone who believes in the "fundamentals" of the faith. We believe God's Word is authoritative, without dismissing uncomfortable passages as "for that time, but not ours."
What are the fundamentals that we believe in?
• We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
• We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
• We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
• We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
• We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
These beliefs are nothing to be ashamed of. They have kept us true to the faith for millennia. It is only when men and their churches dismiss these fundamentals, that they go astray.
