I am attempting to get into the US Coast Guard, I am 18 and when I went in January I was told I had to get down to 201 (i was 226). Right Now I am about 207 (give or take) and I can not seem to get rid of these last couple pounds.

I have been trying to eat clean and I have been on a pretty intense cardio routine 5 times a day. I usualy run a mile and then bike ten (roughly 45 minutes of cardio a day). I need help on losing these last couple pounds, any advice would be helpful.

My 18 yr old son runs 3 miles daily after tennis practice, and lifts weights 4 x weekly. He eats only whole grains, no white bread, no white pasta. Brown rice. Nothing sweet. He drinks water and milk only, eats an orange or apple instead of juice. High protein foods like tuna packed in water, chicken breast meat, fish. Nuts. No sauces. No ketchup, no dressings. Fresh spinach tossed with artichokes, olives, sunflower seeds, a squeeze of lemon. Steamed broccoli, no butter. He will eat a whole head of steamed cauliflower! Yeah, he's a trip :) Egg beaters substitute has 0 fat, 0 cholesterol, and more protein than real egg. He scrambles a little of that with chopped green pepper or sliced mushrooms. Oatmeal with skim milk. Oh, and get 10 hrs sleep. Email me if you'd like his entire eating ingredients. Great luck to you!

loosing the last few pounds is always the hardest

you need to speed up your metabolism, first... I would try the induction to a diet, like the Adkins or the south beach diets, neither are hard to do and either will give you a boost.

then, if your cardio routine is getting easy, you need to step it up... then, if its still tough to do, try changing things around and exercising differently.
