Hi there. It is actually very simple. Romans 10:9-10 in the Bible says that if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the and you confess with your mouth that He is your Lord and savior, you will be saved. Basically you pray to God and tell Him that you want to serve Him and you believe and confess that Jesus is your Lord and you want Him to come and live in you by His spirit. It's that simple. God has not made this difficult. Jesus did all the work. He died for our sins so that we wouldn't have to, God raised Him from the dead, and the Bible says that those who call on the name of Jesus will be saved.
After you pray this and receive Him into your life, get a Bible that you can understand, New King James is good, and start reading in the New Testament. You can get to the Old Testament later on.
I hope this is helpful to you. Email me with any other questions.

This is the first step of your walk with God!!

To give your life over to the Lord, you need to receive His salvation. You need to pray - admit that you are a sinner, repent (turn away) from your sin, confess that Jesus Christ is Lord - that he, the Son of God, came to earth in human form, lived a sinless life, died on a cross to save us from our sins, was buried, rose on the third day, and now sits at the right hand of that Father in heaven.

If you pray these things and truly believe them in your heart, then you are received salvation and are now a child of God!!

I would recommend finding someone, a fellow brother or sister in Christ, to talk to. They can help you along the way. Being a Christian sometimes is a struggle, but now you know you have the Lord to help you make it through.

Feel free to email me anytime you need to talk or have any questions!

God bless!!

In Christ,

You can do it on your own as I did, or you can go to a christian church and ask for their help.

I just told God to run my life for me because I thought he could do a better job than I. I then did a lot of soul searching and confessing and started reading the Bible slowly realizing I was being shown passages to read.

When my divorce went through which is what I was having a hard time with, I realized that I was being led through it and it was just the right thing in my life. Eventually God turns your life back to you but it's a bigger you, not the "my will "that Jesus gave up in the garden of Gethsemane, but Thy will.

I am so glad to hear of your interest in giving your life over to the Lord. This indicates to me that you are sincere and honestly search for truth in your life. Also you are a believer to know you need to do this. Thanks for your open heart. If you seek the Lord you will find him as long as your heart stays open. Matthew 6:33 says to seek the Lord first. Jesus tells his apostles in
Matthew 28:18-20 ...to go into all the world and teach the gospel to every creature baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The "gospel" is the "good news" of Jesus. Jesus came to earth to pay the price for our sins because God cannot be where sin is...so Jesus removes the wall of seperation. Jesus is our mediator (I Timothy 2:5) We can not do enough to pay that price so he came and sacrificed himself for all who will obey and live for him. He is not willing that any should perish but all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
Hebrews 5:9 says salvation to all that obey. This shows our faith in God when we "obey" what he has told us to do to be saved. How to be saved is found in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Here are some verses that will help.
We must hear the truth...Romans 10:17 says so then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
We must believe that Jesus is the son of God and believe the Bible is God's word. Hebrews 11:6, Mark 16:16
We must repent, this means to change direction; to stop living the wrong way and start living for Jesus. Acts 2:38, Luke 13:3
Then we must confess Jesus as the son of God and our belief in Him. Romans 10:9,10 also Matthew 10:32,33
Then we must be baptized, cleansed of our sins.
Romans 6:1-6 read these verses thoroughly...very good verses to illustrate the need and purpose of baptism.........
Salvation is illustrated through the "death, burial and resurrection of Jesus" Just as he died, was placed in tomb, and rose from the dead; we also do this in a symbollic way. We die to our sins meaning we no longer do wrong, we are buried in immersion (baptism) for the forgiveness of our sins, this is where we reach the blood of Jesus Christ, and when we "arise" out of the water (our resurrection) we are a new creature called a christian.
Other verses on baptism are: Acts 2:38, Galatians 3:27, I Peter 3:21, Colossions 2:12.
All examples of people who were saved AFTER Jesus died on the cross, which is when the new testament came into effect (Hebrews 9:16, 17) all were saved the same way..hear, believe, repent, confess and baptism then Live the Christian Lifestyle and Worship in Spirit and in Truth...John 4:23, 24
The Lord adds you to His church when you obey him..Acts 2:47
Romans 16:16 ..the churchs of Christ salute you.
Matthew 16:18...Jesus said he would build "his" church...church belonging to Him.
Anxiously awaiting to hear back from you...I love the truth also. Email me at: jossiemaec@yahoo.com

Best Answer won't be found on this site.

I suggest you begin by getting in contact with a good spiritual leader. You will better find answers on sites such as Bible.org. You can start by accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior, and learning more about him. But you really need a teacher to help you with the learning.

It may seem a trite answer, but faith in God and Christ's atoning sacrifice will make you more pious. But, by faith I mean the following:

Faith commences with the conviction of the mind based on adequate evidence; faith continues in the confidence of the heart or emotions based on conviction, and faith is crowned in the consent of the will, by means of which the conviction and confidence are expressed in conduct.

Key points:
Conviction of the Mind
Confidence of the Heart
Consent of the Will
Conduct of the Body

As you can see from the above, faith affects the whole of a person's nature. Even the demons *believe*. Belief is not enough. Many may claim to be Christians, but we know from the scriptures that many are called, but few are chosen:

Mat 7:16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Mat 7:17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.
Mat 7:18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'
Mat 7:23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.' (ESV Translation)

Faith without works is dead, just as the fig tree cursed by Christ when it did not bear fruit (Mt. 21:19). By a Christian's fruit you will know their true nature.

Just call upon His name. Talk to Him. He's there. He knows your struggle. And He is faithful to come through for you as your Savior.

I'd also encourage you to find a healthy, well-balanced church where you can plant yourself in order to grow in the Lord & equip yourself in the faith.

What God said about Jesus;
See, I am sending out my messenger ahead of you; he will prepare your way before you.

No one comes to the father except through the son.

For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, will not perish, but have eternal life.

Whenever someone turns to God, the veil is taken away.
(2 Corinthians 3)

For we are the temple of the living God-as God said; I will house myself in them,...and walk among you. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Go out from their midst; seperate yourselves; do not even touch what is unclean. Then I myself will recieve you. In fact, I will be your father, and you will be my sons and daughters.

Jesus saves us. Repent for your sin, and ask for Him to come into you. He will send the Holy Spirit of God, to counsel you. You need no one to teach you, He alone is your teacher.

Might I suggest the first chapter of 'Conversations with God' by Neale D. Walsch as it has changed my life and made me incredibly happy and helped me see the world without fear.
