I would say pool table myself. It is a living room right? So live in it---make it whatever you enjoy. If you enjoy parties, put up a wet bar and what not---if you enjoy reading, make it a library/office. If you are looking for the more classical look, put a really nice furniture set in there only used for special occasions. Think about what you enjoy and go from there

If it has a large window you could make it a sun room. Put lots of plants in it. A small round table and two chairs. It will be a nice room to take your coffee in. It is basically just going to be a room that looks nice untill you get a big dinning room table, then turn it into the dinning room.
until then use it as a den/sunroom.Hope this helps. Congrats on your new move.

If it's an extra room, you might try installing a large screen tv, getting pool table and a few shelves to display your stuff. Maybe a lava lamp, a neon sign and a street light or something to liven it up for your guests.
Personally, I'd go for an around the room shelf that supports a little train or perhaps your trophies and college degrees...One of the coolest things I can think of is go out and get a "Billy Big Mouth Bass" from WalMart that sings "Be Happy, Don't Worry"..trust me, it's funny as hell, your guests will love it !
...Oh, and don't forget the Jackalope figurine !
lol - Best of luck, cheers !

Me too! I have a front room(living room) that I currently use as the tv spot. It has the two couches and a tv and a fireplace. But I have this ENORMOUS room in the back that is 24 x 15 that is off of the kitchen and has a sliding door. I haven't figured out what the heck to use it for. Im going to redrywall, paint and carpet in there, but as for furniture, I can't figure it out. Boyfriend suggested a media room on one end and a pool table or poker table on that other. I think I'm going to have to ignore my womanly sense and agree with him. So maybe you could make yours into a whole bar set up. Pool table, bar, darts, surround sound, comfy couches...

You could use it for an office/library. Or you could install a door and use it as a spare bedroom. Or you could set it up as a game room.
