It is caused by too much pressure from laying on one side to long. We see this often in our nursing home residents and they can't always move as easily as you or I can so the skin is pressed against the pillow for hours on end causing sore skin or pressure sore. The ear is a common place bacaus it has direct contact with the pillow. To relieve this you can look for a piece of foam in the store cut it to fit your ear and then cut out the center (like the hole in a doughnut) and tape it to your ear before you go to bed at night.

It takes a while to heal and numerous the persons i understand that have had it achieved have relented and took it out. This area of your ear has no flesh so for this reason cant heal in the traditional way. i might take it out and forget approximately with regard to the piercing for a sturdy nights sleep, you could consistently purchase those rings that go on the final area of your ear of you ever prefer to apply them. Having slightly one is painful sufficient dont placed your self with the aid of anymore with the aid of arrogance, get yet another piercing achieved on your earlobe in case you could, I extremely have 3 and that they look super without suffering.

The cartilage of the outer ear is "bending", under physical stress. Change out your pillow for something a little softer.

TMJ- don't chew gum, sleep on that side or eat tough foods- it is causing an inflamation in that area.
