I'm English myself and have visited most of Britain/ UK or however you wish to term it. In my opinion people from Southern Ireland are the friendliest. What lovely welcoming folk they are. Ok it's stretching a point a bit as it is not in Britain or the UK, but it is a "home nation" if you like.

Ireland is not a home nation, they are a nation of there own, so to count them is defeating the propose of your question, anyhoo's, the Inverness people are the most welcoming and friendly, and even though liverpool has a bad rep i find them to be friendly too, and the worst has to be the people from London, there attitude stinks towards northern people, dont care much for the Manchester lot either,

No it's not, it's an independent country. The Irish play the British card when it suits them and decry us when it does not.

Dorset and Devon are great if you are English. Scotland can be a challenge for the same reason. Most Scots are great but the BBC press, especially Radio Scotland there and a hard core of separatists are very anti-English.

I have lived in south east england all my life and I would say that Northerners are not as friendly as they make out to be. Southerners aren't much better, but London is a nightmare. 8 million strangers walking past each other every day.

There is friendly and hostile people where ever you go but from my experience Yorkshire folk are nice so are people from the north east . Londoners are fine out of London but London Itself tends to make people insular.

I've always found that Scots (especially from the Highlands) are the most friendly.
I guess Londoners are least friendly. But then most people who live in big cities are like that... not really unfriendly - just aloof.

well i live down south but I've encountered friendly in both North and South of england. I think people are probably more approachable up north though.

Is this now going to lead onto a discussion about the North and South divide? *LOL*

I'm not sure about friendliest, but I'm sure London have the least friendly. I've lived in London my whole life and find the people very unapproachable.

South of England and London - downright rude and unfriendly.
