When I was a kid, fishing out in front of the cabin, a sudden storm came up and lightning struck somewhere close by. You could feel the electricity come up through the fishing line and my hair stood up. That's what it is like when you go to a race and they start the engines up. It's excitement, adrenaline and an atmosphere that cannot be duplicated. The only way to know what it's like is to go there in person and see for yourself. Different people come away from their first race with different emotions but you cannot leave one unaffected. The sights, smells and noise all push your senses to their maximum limits and then just a little beyond. When a crash or lead change occurs it can bring well over 150,000 screaming people to their feet simultaneously. That's a rare force that can have such a powerful affect on so many people in the blink of an eye.

Very competitive side by side racing on short tracks like Bristol or Superspeedways where the cars are mere inches apart at 190+. Although people say its just oval racing all cookie cutter tracks are completely different so its always a tossup who is gonna win. Even road courses you get to see drivers versatility. The drivers in Nascar have proven themselves to be just as good of drivers as F1 and other series. Always good racing.
As far as the Northwest goes, they are missing out the only problem I can see is maybe the rain they get during the year.
Everywhere Nascar goes it has proven to be a huge hit so only positive things can come from racing in Washington or say Oregona. Nascar needs races somewhere in the NW and maybe the Denver area, then it would be nationwide sport and wouldn't breed so much ignorance on the part of people who know nothing about the sport (but always think they know everything there is)

The best damn sport in the world. Our drivers risk their lives every week to win a race to the finish. The adrenalin rush one gets at the race says it all. You really can't appriciate it unless you have been, but I guarantee it is a day you will never forget. Is the Northwest missing out? Yeah maybe but we prefer to keep it close to home. Even Cali is too far to go racin. Great sport full of high intensity speed and courage.

Speedy and money hungry. A little political. And yes I do think the Northwest is missing out on not having tracks.

its the best sport because where else do you get to see cars running at almost 200mph plus. and the startegy is so key in a race and the racers i mean they are the best in the world(except Jeff Gordon)and the excitement just before the race is unbelievable!it gets you pumped hearing the engines roar as they zoom by you!
