There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed and narrated by Bukhary in which prophet Muhammed told his companions that the sun sets every night under god's throne.

Did not prophet Muhammed know that when the sun sets in one place it shines on another place and it actually never physically set?

Quran Chapter 36: YA-SEEN (YA-SEEN)
and the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the mighty, the knowing (38)

the hadith you mentioned is reffering to this verse that is found at the end of the hadith.

Modern Science proved that the sun is not fixed, it is moving & has an orbit.

The hadith says the sun 'goes to make sujud' under the throne.
the hadith doesn't say the sun 'sets' under the throne. 'as you said!'

Anyway, you don't know much about the Throne of God,,
so how do you want to understand how the sun makes sujud there. & even you don't know what sujud means..
Sujud for humans is to prostrate.
but the Sujud for other things(living or not living) is in their own way that we don't really understand.

the prophet said many scientific facts in an way that people of his time & people in the age of technology can understand
each according to the abilities they have.

people 1400 years ago didn't know much about science,,
so too much scientific information may confuse them & the prophet was not sent as a science teacher,, he was sent to provide a message valid to all humans until Day of Judegment.

It's called descriptive or figurative language. Maybe the languages section is what you're looking for.

EDIT:

Raymond below, the question relates to a hadith not the quran.

Didn't you ask that question once ago, here's a copy of my answer. I really thank Allah that we have answers to all of your questions. But it's you who rejects the truth, Yes you just don't want to believe, that's it, although EVIDENCES ARE VERY CLEAR that this is the true religion. Anyway I hope you won't die on what you are now, or else, HELL is waiting for you.

Islam is not losing anything if you rejects it,
It's you the loser who rejects Islam.
