I have two options, that I'm aware of. My place of employment offers three free visits with one of their counselors about any sort of mental problems, and depression would fall under this category. The other option is my own physician.
Are there any pros/cons of one versus the other? Also, in attempting to seek help for depression, is this likely to go on some permanent record of mine, thus making it difficult for me later in life? For example, could such a record be used to deny me life insurance, promotions, or employment with a different company?
Thanks for any insight.
