Slice off the woody stem end and remove the tougher few outer leaves. If they are bigger than a walnut, make an X incision in the bottom with a knife.
I steam mine rather than boil them. (More flavor and nutrients are retained this way) And, I add nothing to the water. If you are going to boil yours instead, add a little vinegar and/or lemon juice to the water and a touch of salt.
When mine are cooked, I love throwing them into a hot saute pan with a bit of olive oil and garlic and toss them around till they are lightly browned. Delicious!

Salt, pepper, and a bit of butter. Minced (finely chopped) garlic adds a nice flavor as well.

I like to put a little bacon grease and onion, salt, pepper, and little butter.
If I am making it healthy I use bullion cubes to flavor it a bit and salt and pepper.

i never add anything they are good just the way they are. If you want after they're done you can put them in a frying pan and put olive oil - minced garlic - itailian seasoning - and pepper

no you dont :) but just saying to make them taste better try putting a dab of olive oil, butter and garlic powder with a bit of parmishan cheese. It'll make them taste better.
