I've done it... but I'm not searching back through that many questions to find a link. Allthough, I will admit that a vast majority of my best answers just go to the best answer.
Oh... I even gave best anser to lavey (a satanist) when he answered my question on satanism.

No, because we don't think a religious person deserves to have a best answer, and even if they give a whole lot of pertinent information and the atheists in that thread just post random crap, we'll still choose the atheist answers as some kind of misguided protest.
[/sarcasm]
Seriously, what I don't get is why the religious people constantly accuse the atheists of being close-minded. Here I am, logically skeptical of everything and ready to accept anything if there is enough evidence for it, and in the meantime the religious people are 100% sure they are correct and therefore 100% sure everyone who holds different beliefs is incorrect. And yet THEY accuse US of being close-minded? Sorry if I sound a bit offensive here, but I still find that very strange indeed.
Also, I'm sorry but I don't know of any links I can provide, because I haven't asked very many questions and only one of them was about religion. However it seems someone else up there was going to provide some links, so even if I don't get best answer at least you'll get the answer you need.

Are ATHEISTS open-minded?
About 50 quintillion percent more open minded than adherents to any religion.
The best answer should be selected as the one that is the most cogent to the question, the answerer's belief system shouldn't be a factor at all.
Now, of course we all have a personal built in bias, so certainly many "Best Answers" are going to mirror the Asker's personal position.

Why are you just singling out atheists?
i've seen countless questions where the asker chose the answer that was closest to their own beliefs instead of choosing the one that was the "best answer" to their question.
EVERYONE does it! I've seen it in christian questions, questions about cars, questions about relationships and so on! It's not only limited to atheists.
This seems to me like just another one of those "bashing" questions. It's obvious you are taking a jab at atheists! How will you choose your BA? Will it be the person who says "No, atheists suck & they bite the heads off of kittens!".... or will you open YOUR mind to see past what YOU think about atheists?
By the way, when i select BA's i choose based on who gives the best answer... not who shares my answer. If someone answers a question to the opposite of my beliefs, but it is a well-worded answer & isn't derogatory or rude or evangelical I will give it my vote for BA.

I have voted for believers as BA, but not very often due to siting scripture as evidence for their answer. If one does not believe in the bible, how could it be part of a factual answer? Funny how it all comes down to faith but having a ton of science claiming otherwise. It baffles my mind hearing people quote scripture, especially when the scripture was added in the 4th century through scribes or translations throughout the centuries. If they are using scripture to answer the question, they should have knowledge of where their answer came from and not just quote blindly from a book most of the population of the earth does not even believe in.

I have no evidence, just a theory much as your question is... Why should an antheist ask a question if they were just going to choose a mirror answer?? Why would a Christian choose an answer if they were just going to choose a mirror answer?? Are we not questioning to see the broader side of life and the difference in opinion and thought?? If you are seeking a like in kind answer... Then you know the answer when you ask the question and need no further insight.... Common sense!!

I have received a few of best answers not only from atheists but also from those who believed in something other than Jesus Christ.
Would, but I don't know how to provide the link.
Haven't bothered to try that yet.

I haven't asked any questions in this category, but it seems to me that the best answer is the best answer. I wouldn't have any way of knowing whether or not the person was a believer without checking into it a little more.

Some are.
I have had a couple answers selected as Best Answer by an atheist person.
And, for the record, I did select an atheist as Best Answer for one of my questions.

Yeah I have selected different religions & athiests answers because they have been the best one for the Q being asked.
But for the life in me whom is Jesus, I cannot work out why so many are hell bent on trying to hurt us Christians.
Tonight some comments were made to me that were so out of order, I think they just skimmed over a couple of things & saw the Word God, & attacked?
Have a good one matey!

If it IS the best answer. Which it won't be!
Seriously though, almost nobody who asks questions on here is looking for somebody to actually tell him something he didn't already know, or thought that he knew. That goes for every demo. That said, if I asked a question and got a really compelling answer from any point of view, I'd consider giving it best. I've been given BA by a lot of "believers" and it always kind of shocks me, but I appreciate it!
