Mine is a personal belief against abortion. I don't believe in it for myself. And yes, I have been approved to adopt and I myself was adopted. If my mother had chose another route, I wouldn't be here today. So, it is a very personal issue for me. I don't condem anyone else for doing it...I just couldn't live with myself if I did it.

Even advocating birth control and condoms aren't going to stop people from having sex. What really needs to happen is all of these sex ed classes and such need to have people who have AIDS and the really serious STD's come in and talk to these teens that are out there having promiscuous, unprotected sex. Give them a little perspective into what it's like having AIDS, how it's affecting their lives, and their outlook on dying from it. Maybe this would start teaching the importance in preventing it by protection(and remember ladies that birth control doesn't protect you from STD's), or better yet by abstaining from sex period until you are in a committed relationship or married. Just my .02!!

Oh and as for adoption...I would adopt as many kids as I could afford. Remember adoption is expensive, but if I had the money right now I would be adopting. My sis just put her daughter with an adoptive family b/c she couldn't take care of her. She considered abortion in the beginning, but knew it was the wrong thing to do, so she kept her daughter. My sister blessed an infertile couple with a child and that's one of the best gifts that you can give in life. No one should abort b/c it is killing a live baby(whether it's a mass of cells, a fetus, embryo, etc....it's a baby either way you look at it).

I'm going to adopt as many children as need me.And,just by the way, there are no better solutions than abstinence--because while you can still fall pregnant using birth control such as condoms, with abstinence there is no chance of it at all! When are you going to grow up and learn some self-control,so you can stop shagging every tramp you meet on the street and start taking responsibility for the unwanted babies you make, instead of aborting them becuase they are an inconvinience to your immaturity? You can't be a teenager forever, you know!

This is redicluous it's not about being a right wing fundamentalist or a left wing activist, it's killing a human life. What if your mother had aborted you? If a person is "responsible" enough to open their legs or open someones legs then they need to realize there may just be some consequences, it may be a disease or an unplanned pregnancy and you know what, that means, it's time to grow up and face the music of your choices, killing your unborn child is the most selfish of all human choices, because you aren't ready or you aren't married or you can't afford it or you are into your career, these are not reasons to kill another human and for sure not your own child. You know sometimes my child is expensive, doctor visits, food, toys, clothes, sometimes he's an inconvience having to find a sitter or getting up at 3am but he's the reaction of a choice I made to have sex which brought about a beatiful child who is the most amazing thing in the world. I wouldn't trade him for anything, and as for adoption of the unborn babies, if you weren't so selfish and took the time to look at the numbers there are alot more people looking for babies to adopt than children waiting on parents, I think abortion is awful it's lawful murder and it's wrong on so many moral levels, not because of my faith or my political party or anything else it's murder of innocent life, plain and simple. Pregnancy is a consequence good or bad for sex, if you don't like the consequence don't have sex, but don't kill an innocent human because you are to selfish to own up to YOUR choice. The mother and fathers right to choose isn't after it's too later but before they fall into bed.

All too often, the people who cry the loudest about the evils of abortion are also caught in a "Catch 22."

They say it's wrong to kill an innocent, yet they are unwilling to take a major step in preventing careless abortions by allowing teens access to contraception.

The US teen pregnancy rate continues to be the highest on the planet, 9x higher than that of the Netherlands. But, "fundamentalists" can't bring themselves to do something logical, like promote contraception for those who need it most - teens.

They'd rather pretend that fantasy programs like "abstinence" work. And they do not.

So, there they are, opposed to both abortion and preventing more births.

They need a good dose of reality and then to get off the john.

Well, I'm anti-abortion, and I wouldn't adopt a child for the simple fact that I'm too young(I'm 19). Later on in life? Sure, if someone who couldn't take care of their child asked me to help them, I'd be happy to.

It's true that abortion has been around forever. Ever since the first woman found out she could kill her baby, people have been using abortion to get rid of the consequences of sex. I still think that it's wrong, and murder.

Abstinence is still the best way to avoid getting pregnant. I don't have a problem with birth control of condoms. They're useful too.

As a Christian, I realize that others don't share the same convictions as I do. It's silly to think I can pass on my morals to others by merely being anti-abortion. Only Jesus can put those values in your heart.

Hey, I only push abstinence for unmarried people. If you're married, you should be happy to have sex and children. If you're too poor to support children, you shouldn't get married in the first place.

Your question presumes the same attitude that leads to so many abortions to begin with - namely, the childish and selfish demand that other people take up the burden for your irresponsible behavior.

Abstinence, until and unless one is prepared to be a parent, is a perfectly reasonable approach to the problem. If you don't have the maturity to understand and accept that, you're not mature enough to handle a sexual relationship. While I'm personally in favor of ready access to birth control, particularly for adults; it remains a fact that handing out condoms and pills like candy *does* create a permissive attitude which encourages irresponsible promiscuity.

I love your question. I think that they are too many children in Foster Care. Maybe more Americans should adopt children and offer more birth control to the public, even free.

I had an abortion before I was saved, was raped AFTER I was saved and kept the child that resulted from the rape. Giving birth to a child that was a product of rape and loving him for the last 12 years was A LOT easier than dealing with the guilt of knowing that I murdered my first child!

To some fundies it's better for the child to sit in an orphanage. I once asked them if they thought it was better for a child to be in a abusive house rather than be adopted by a gay couple...they said better to be in an abusive house.

They are so (not all of them I know) against abortion, or gay adoption that they would rather see a child suffer. Make no sense to me.
