If we need to haul fuel where do we put it. On the bike or the trailer?

No.

Average motorcycle has a maximum range of about 200 miles on 5 gallons of gas on the highway. You could easily have more than 200 miles between gas stations up there. It's very common for trucks/campers etc.. to carry extra fuel up there.

Keep in mind that road is not in great shape so you most likely won't be moving at highway speeds, hence your mileage will be lower.

Most Iron Butt competitors carry extra fuel on their bikes.

I personally think you are nuts to want to ride a motorcycle there. I have driven from Michigan to Fairbanks Alaska four times. The road has improved over time but it still breaks up really bad because of the permafrost in the ground. You should not only carry gas, but about 3 or 4 headlights and taillights, a couple extra tires, throttle cables, break cables, etc. If you catch my drift here. If you know the way and don't get lost you will probably fair okay, but if you get lost, you better have all the spares you can haul of everything. You do not want to stay on the Alcan in a broken down situation open to the elements. Gas stations are not one of the more predominate things crossing the Alcan. And if something breaks that you don't have with you it could be a long wait in some town until the next delivery of what you need. Good luck!!!!!!

! A one gal. can for each bike and trailer can sure save a lot of time IF anything were to happen . I always carry it when hauling a trailer. It takes up very little space. have a good ride!

I think also that it's the law in Canada, but for a Motorcycle I don't know for sure. It also makes good sense because of price of fuel.
