Do you mean gain weight during your pregnancy?

Eat lots of different nutritous foods.

Try to include a wide variety of foods in your diet.
Eat frequently.....pregnant women should be eating snacks/small meals every few hours through the day instead of 3 big meals.

If you are having trouble gaining weight, you might try keeping a food journal and writing down everything you eat. How much and how often? Are you leaving any food groups out? Try protein shakes or milk shakes to help gain weight.

If you are concerned about gaining enough weight during pregnancy you should speak with your doctor. He/she can recommend a good nutritionist that will provide you good options for weight gain. I could say pig out on pastas with lots of cheesy sauce, but this will not do you or your baby any good.

First and foremost is to eat a good balanced and hearty breakfast. Try staying away from the sugary cereals, flavored oat packets and breakfast bars - lots of empty calories and little nutrition. Fresh fruit, regular or quick cooking oats, good ol' bacon & eggs with toast are all good options.

Try to eat healthy meals consisting of lots of fresh fruits & vegetables. The darker vegetables contain more vitamins and nutrients - think romaine & spinach instead of iceburg lettuce. Eat 3 meals a day, plus a couple of snacks.

Maintain a healthy diet and positive attitude and your body should adapt to the pregnancy well and gain the amount of weight that is right for you. If you start out underweight, it is suggested you gain 28-40 pounds, or a pound per week.

Congratulations and good luck!
