Clean it at least twice a day EVERY day without taking the earring out... you shouldn't be putting it in and out until it is more healed, you only need to twist it a little while cleaning it. Second you may want to look into a titanium earring as it is the most hypoallergenic.. you may be having a reaction to the earring it's self.

Before you start cleaning, your hands MUST be washed ! You can use several things to clean the piercing.I used peroxide but you shouldn't, I did because i know the limit on it and how to care for piercings.
If you have pus coming from it make sure to squeeze a little out, but do not squeeze to hard or to much, before cleaning it. Mind you pus in a cartilage piercing is not abnormal! It happens, however you say this was a couple months ago.. the pus should only be there for the first week as well as a little blood.
It would be wise to go to an ear piercing place, one because you can get a good earring there, and two they can further tell you how to care for it.
The link below will help you out, but seriously go to a piercing place for proper cleaning liquids and new a earring. Next time get it done by a pro!

First of all make certain the earring is of a good grade of gold. It could be an allergy to the metal. A post of surgical stainless steel is preferable. Then...once you get it in DO NOT TAKE IT OUT! You can clean it with a warm wet cloth and then put Neosporin or Bacitracin on it and the post to make certain the antibiotic gets into the hole. You should do this at least three times a day; keeping antibiotic on it so as not to form a scab. Have have this problem twice in 40 years and this always works. Good luck and God bless

I have many piercings. But if you keep cleaning it 2 a day. and it doesn't get better you will have to either try a new earing and see if that helps or take it out, let it heal and get it done professinally. When you pierced it did you sterilize the needle? That may be why. But if it keeps getting worse the infection can spread threw out your body. Maybe you are allergic to the type of metal the earing is made of. I am known for that I am allergic to nickle. But I hope I helped

Good luck!

The earring could be the problem. Sometimes the earrings have nickel in them and some people react to that. Find an earring that is pure gold and see what happens. I've also heard of people who periodically coated the earring with clear, hypoallergenic nail polish and once it dried they put the earring back on. You would have to clean the earring and repeat the process occasionally.

you might be allergic to the earring, the next time you take it out and clean it put in a different earring, also if you are taking out the earring and cleaning the ear, are you cleaning the earring before you put it back in?? you could just be giving the ear the same crud back if you aren't.
