A pro should be done with a room a day. A DIYer should be done with a normal 12 x 12 room in 2-3 days. The more help you get with the lifting and cutting, the faster it goes. Hubby and I did a 25 x 15 bedroom by ourselves in a week after work. The hard part for us was the funky ceiling angles of the hipped roof. No matter how many holders we had, it was a killer to screw into the joists.

Mudding and taping takes another day per room, depending on whether you use a pre-mixed joint compound or a timed plaster compound (Dura 90 or Dura 45, for example). The lower the number on the compound you mix yourself, the quicker you have to work with that batch or you lose it. The thicker the joints you're doing, the more you want to stay away from pre-mixed and work with the Dura powder.

I would say about 3 hours per room. My suggestion after going through the grueling process with a licensed carpenter friend is get yourself one of those standup drywall holders and the correct drill -- it'll save you money by not having to hire and contractor and will go FAR faster than I did, lol.

Be VERY careful to do a good job, once it's done you can't go back. I wish I could've put more outlets in. The three outlets for my daughters bedroom aren't nearly enough. Have someone come in and install two outlets per wall or even more if you can -- you'll thank yourself later for following this bit of wisdom !!!

Enjoy !

It depends on the size of the house and if the person or persons doing the sheet rocking are experienced.

Depending on the amount of cutting and odd angles, most rockers I know try to do about 8 sheets per hour.
