We were unable to have a church wedding 3 years ago due to him leaving to go to Germany. We have been stationed there the last 3 years and we are now planning a church wedding. I am clueless on how to word the inviations. Do I use my maiden name or my married name? Do we ask them to attend the marriage of us, but we are already married??? I am clueless!!! Not even sure who I would ask!

You can word them however you'd like just make sure and note that its a church wedding. I just did my husband's brother's invitations and since they have children I worded them like this:

Stephanie and Billy
Johnson Jones
wish to invite you and your esteemed family
to the celebration of the union of their parents

John and Marie

in the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony
which will take place at
St. John's Catholic Church

See the way I included both last names was at the very beginning because the children share both last names. If you dont have any children and you already go by your married name and people know you by your married name, then use that. If you havent changed your married name then use your maiden name.

Well, you just don't do this. You are already married, regardless of what the circumstances were.
The only thing you can do is have a vow renewal, though that's usually done at 25 years, some do it at 10 years. That's where you have a simple vow renewal ceremony or blessing, followed by a dinner at your home for family and close friends.
Don't know where you got the idea that you would be planning a church wedding after 3 years..... so strange.... even if you didn't get the fantasy wedding of your dreams, you got the guy.... and be satisfied with that.

Use the name you use now and word the invitation to witness the renewal of your vows. The people you know and love know your circumstances and know that you are already married. So, in essence, you are renewing your marriage vows. Hope you enjoy your big day.

I am doing the same thing. I bought invitations from WalMart and I am printing them myself. I found on their website templates to use. This is the one I will be using...

Send out the invitations as something to the effect of
"we would be honored if you would join us for the renewal of our vows, etc etc etc.". As for who to ask, just treat it as a real wedding and invite family and friends.

Use your married name. Just put in the invation this (since i don'n t know your names i'm just putting jane and joe doe):

Jane & Joe Doe cordialy invite you to their wedding. They will be renewing their vows and would like for you to attend.

I hope that helps a little
