I don't believe that Horus can be compared to Jesus. Now Horus was a very important God to the Egyptians I grant you but comparing him to Jesus? Horus was associated with the Sun God Re so to the Egyptians they identified Horus as the son of Osiris. There had been conflicts between these different Gods in various parts of Egypt to where it resulted in 15 distinct forms of Horus. Now they have identified Horus in two catagories...Solar and Osirian. If one stated that Horus was the son of Isis, he is an Osirian, otherwise he was a Solar deity. The Solar Horus was called the son of Atum, or Re, or Geb or Nut variously. Now if one wants to compare the birth of Jesus to Horus that can be understandable since if one believed that Horus was the son of Isis and the story goes that Isis was conceived magically after the murder of his father Osiris. He was protected on an island by his mother Isis from his uncle Seth. Now as Harmakhis "Horus of the Horizon" he was personified the rising sun and was associated with Khepera as a symbol of resurrection or eternal life so maybe this is where you might have confusion or an assumption that he was like Jesus, but you have to realize Horus was only a symbol and not Khepera himself. Hope this has helped. If you need further aspects on Horus a good website to visit is www.egyptianmyths.net. Have a blessed day!

I'm not sure of the exact resemblance of the two you are finding. After reading it, I see very little. The main difference is, I don't see that this Greek God was born and risen again . . or that it is coming back. One thing is for sure . . . this Greek God is not referenced or remembered 1000's of yrs later. I didn't even know who it was, and I studied Greek Mythology. Jesus is recognized in our time as a primary element.
Examples: There are no churches called "The Church of Horus". Time did not stop when Huros was born (i.e. BC) There are not ancient documents on this Greek God. I'm thinking it may have been created long after Christ.
Don't feel bad, Saul did this, until he met Christ himself.

that is the most historically inaccurate site i have ever seen. so many things are wrong with it. just one of them is this "Horus raised Osirus, his dead father, from the grave." Horus never did such a thing. that deed was done by his mother Isis, not Meri. another inaccurate point made on this site is the part about his method of death, it states that he was killed by crucifixion. this is completly wrong being that such a way of execution was not used until the Romans came into the picture.

Christianity is not an entirely original religion. It borrows from many cultures including Greek and Egyptian.

No one came before Jesus. He was created by Jehovah as his first creation.
I don't recall where in the bible I read this, but it was a discussion about Jesus seeing a person before he was Mary's boy. The conversation went something like this..
before you, I was. (Indicating his presance in spiritual form.)
