Well... It goes back a long way. Luther and Calvin were as whacked out as any Catholics. The list of people Luther wanted killed was longer than Kobe Bryant's arm, and Calvin regularly burned people at the stake for heresy or just because. Witch hunts were a popular Protestant pastime, even though the witch hunters' manual, the Malleus Mallificarum, was written by two Dominicans.
The main contribution of Protestantism to human freedom and progress was the realization that if Luther or Calvin could say no to the Pope, other people could say no to Luther or Calvin, although still at some risk to one's physical and social being for some time to come.

Well I dont know what aspects you are looking at? I'm a Protestant, my ex was Catholic. He believed only "his church" counted to God. I'd go with him and his daughter sometimes, but if I'd ask them to come with me....forget it, he told me it didn't count. So, not sure how humane that is to Protestants...It's the same God. That makes NO sense to me logically. Besides that, we are all Christians.

To the guy above you apparently never read the Old Testament, when God's chosen people went and purged the evil from the land through War.

They've been that way from the start, sad to say.
Catholics were responsible for the Inquisition, but the whole Witch-hunters, Salem, Germany, Scotland, with the hangings and burnings and stuff were all Protestant sects unrelated to thr Inquisition.
Not that I see much difference.

No and saying it wont make it true. Catholics are just as guilty of their ignorance as any other religion. They have just as many deviants as any other.
