Like with a falling out in a relationship. Or say with one group of people being evil to another. How long is too long when it comes to anger? When do you forgive?

Personally, as long as it takes..
I'm a grudge holder who always gets 'even' no matter how many years I have to bide my time. Other people may be ok in a matter of hours/days, etc..

Anger is only really useful when it can be directed into creating something. Angry at a group of people being evil to others - pointless waste of energy. Falling out after a relationship also same - its OK to be out of contact with someone for a little while before making the peace but if you are feeling angry then it is likely to have a detrimental effect on your life and is therefore a waste of time.

The sooner you forgive the sooner you can let go of hatred and anger. When you hold onto these feelings you are only hurting yourself. Most likely the person or group you are angry at has no idea that you are even upset. So the only one being affected is you. Therefore it is in your best interest to forgive and forget as quickly as possible. You can be angry as long as you want and there's no real "right answer" to this question, it just depends on how long you want to feel angry.

5 minutes is long enough to be angry...hit a wall if you need too. (pillows are better, you're less likely to break or bruise your hand/fist) However, Jesus told us to forgive 70 x 7 times. Then you need to forgive. Not for the sake of the other person, but holding on to that anger and the bitterness that comes from it will eat away and make your life miserable, if you let it go, you can move on with your life even if you can't work out being friends again. But I really hope you can be friends again.

You forgive when you no longer wish the person or situation you are angry at to continue to take up space in your head. Forgiveness is more freedom to the person offering forgiveness than to the one committing the offense.

As far as how long, that's a question that only you can answer. When you wish to feel better, give up the anger.

There is no time frame for emotions to last. This differs form person to person depending on the intensity to feel.

Falling out in a relationship again depends how involved you were. Even then I would dare say one year is the longest (personal experience).

If it is evil deeds then I would say it may take longer again depending on the degree of evilness.

Most of the times we may forgive but never forget such traumas and may have to live with the hurt... At that stage we may not feel angry but a little sad or disillussioned or indifferent. You can never be whole again..

This is what I think, and how I choose to live my life :)
The anger only damages you and should be let go immediately. Any length of time is too long. Forgiveness is something you to do for you, not for the other person. When you let go of the hate and anger, all the other negative feelings go. This isn't the same as being a push-over - forgiving someone isn't the same as letting them win. The Tao Te Ching: "Respond to anger with virtue."

Anger is all right, but one should forgive as soon as it is possible. There comes a time when forgiveness is the next step, anger is no longer important.

I would have to hay that since it gats harder to orgive the longer you are angry, it is best not to carry it into tomorrow. Also, I find I don't sleep well after a fall out. So, I really believe that the old saying is the truth
Don't let the sun go down on your anger

Anger is something the Bible address often, in some places its says not to let the sun go down on your WRATH (which in more than being just angry),in other places it says to be angry and sin NOT, so I say as long as its not eating away at you or causing you to sin then you are fine. I would seriously pray about it thou and try to move on because the Bible also talks a lot about forgiveness.

Anger is one of those emotions that can never stand alone. There is always an underlying cause for anger. In order to resolve anger you must look at the cause of it. Anger will fade as you address the problem causing it. If your struggling horribly with anger, see a good therapist. There is help available.
