Butter, my girlfriend is called Marge. I think it's because she spreads it about.

Definitely butter, but go for butter which hasn't done a lot of airmiles. Tesco 'value' butter tastes OK but is really Anchor with an own-brand label and comes from NZ via Denmark. Marge not only tastes foul but contains all sorts of additives which can't be good for us, despite all the propaganda from the cholesterol lobby. The only (doubtful) advantages of marg are that it's cheaper and spreads more easily.

Butter. It has a much nicer taste, is less greasy and is also not full of additives like marge. Butter is just pure milk, with a little added salt.

Seen as how i struggle to spread butter (usually put it ine the microwave for 15 seconds to soften it up, lol) I'd have to plump for the marge everytime!

butter for taste. marg is usually bad for you. i use "smart balance". it has no trans fats and is cholestrol free. taste good too. they also make a spread that includes flax seed oil. for taste, butter is the best though..... you decide if taste or health is more important right now. i save butter for once in a while.
