Roll your eyes and walk away, wait for them to come to you next time.
Some people feel more superior than others so that you must earn their attention!
Don't we love self-centered buttfaces.
Don't get needy for their attention once they ignore you the first time, they sense that and feed off of it!

I've had that happen a couple of times in my life, but not enough to dwell on it. It is rude for people to act that way. Life is more important to give it a moment of your time. The only thing that I can think of is...when it happens, assess the situation. Could this person have a mental problem that I don't know about? Could it have been so long ago, he doesn't remember me? Maybe I've changed and gotten better looking and I don't look quite the same. Maybe, I can say something comforting to this person. "It was good to see you. Have a great day."

i think i know what you mean.
More often than not, the person is just daydreaming or in a trance, and it really isn't about you. You can tell when this is the case because they have a blank look on their face and are sort of just gazing. A polite clearing of the throat or attention grabber is in order.
However, at other times, the person is being rude. It's okay then to stand up straight and say something like the comment that you have stated above. Those people think their s**t don't stink and think they are too good for you. That's when you have to stand up for your self and demand their attention. I dont mean "earn" it, i mean demand it. Who are they that you have to prove yourself to them, you don't have to prove yourself to anyone, they need to learn that they should treat people as equals and give people the respect they deserve.
ha ha sorry i sound really bitter....

Yes it is rude. But sometimes people may have a lot on their minds. If and when it does happen to me, I just don't speak to that person the next time that I see them. Then later on I will say something to that person about not speaking, and their response is always "Oh, I'm sorry, I probably had a lot on my mind that day." But if the person cops an attitude them I just never speak to them anymore. Some people are just jealous and hateful.

I agree with you on this one 100% .But sometimes people don't hear you the first time or have too much on their minds. If I ask the question over or repeat what I was saying and they still don't answer...I just say, " Maybe the next time we talk you'll be more responsive."

I just walk away from them. Maybe they've got a problem on their mind, and don't want to talk at the moment.
