If you have 10 hours, you could leave the terminal and take the Metro to the center of town - You could go see the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame. Just make sure to get back in time to get through security, so you don't miss your connecting flight. 90 minutes before departure should be enough, since your bags will already be checked.

The French no longer allow lockers in airports, train stations, etc., and they have also shut down the "consigne" system (similar to a coat room - you could leave your bag with a real person for a small fee). If you can check your luggage all the way through to your final destination and travel with a light carry-on, do. Suburban trains run into Paris (about a 45 mn. ride) regularly and directly from the airport. Lines can get quite long (3-4 hours) for major attractions like the Eiffel Tour, but you can do some nice walking tours. You also have EuroDisney which is not far from CDG - you can take a suburban train.

You could drop your bags off at a local hotel, go into the City and do some siteseeing, have a sleep for 3-4 hours, a shower or all of the above.

Charles De Gaulle Airport isn't much fun for 10 hours.

I've provided a link to accommodation at the airport and also a link via Tourismrankings to the official tourism site for Paris.

I hope it helps

there is a hotel called ibis right next to the airport where you can hire a room for 10 euros an hour, so you could go there and have a shower, watch TV , read a book, without all the hustle and bustle of the airport for an hour or 2 (or even a quick sleep)
that way your bag is safe too

Unfortunately, the Charles de Gaulle airport is rather far from the center of Paris... You can still try to take the RER to Paris and back... After all 10 hours is long enough!

If you can leave your cases, or check them in, you can get to the centre of Paris in about 30 mins on the RER and see something of the city and have a nice meal. Nothing much to do at CdG airport I'm afraid

if you fancy going to disneyland, there are direct buses from the airport :)
otherwise, yeah take the RER into town and enjoy the sights. a single to paris from the airport is 8.10 euros, but you need more tickets to travel inside paris. do enquire about getting a one-day travelcard.

If you knew what you were doing, an excursion might be fun, but CDG is one of those nightmare airports that take forever to transverse. Lord help you if they lose your luggage. Keep anything valuable in your carry-on. I mean camera batteries, wine, medicines, etc. CDG is number three on my list of airports to avoid -- Amsterdam, Heathrow, Charles de Gaul.

Go to the Information booth and find out who the French are surrendering to this month.
