I have the same problem. I like to use Aveda products. while being expensive they last longer and for the most part are all natural. I like to use Brilliant shampoo, Elixar leave in conditioner and then when my hair is dry I use the Brilliant Humuctant Pomade.I find sometimes that using a wash out conditioner makes my hair puffy and parched looking and the combo that I mentioned above works well for me

Use Garnier Fructis. That line of hair products really really does work. Don't blowdry, just let it dry by itself. Don't brush your hair while it's wet either (that's bad for hair follicles). Don't run your fingers through your hair until it is dry (if you don't want it to fluff up). Pantene Pro-V works well too.
I don't have more tips than that. I don't actually comb/brush my hair, I just shower and let it dry. It is really really straight so it ends up the same whether I brush it or not. Just use a conditioner that is really creamy and heavy, those work the best for what you are trying to do. Um, eat well. That always always always affects the health of your hair. Also, it's not good for your hair follicles to sleep on a wet head of hair. Umm, get regular haircuts. I can't think of anything else. Don't stress out and sleep well.
Oh, and also, people think it is bad to blow dry, right? Well toweling off is bad too. It might even be worse. If you think about it, what you are doing is drying your hair with absorption and warmth that is created by FRICTION. That is damaging to your hair. Just press you hair with the towel so that it doesn't drip, but that's it. And I think someone said this, but when you shower, massage your scalp. This allows for better ciculation of blood in your scalp and healthier hair. Don't use super hot water, that's not good. And don't use both shampoo and conditioner on a daily basis. Let the natural oils from your scalp nourish your hair, don't wash them away every day. I use a light moisturizing shampoo daily (it feels a little like conditioner actually) and use conditioner like 4 times a week. Try this, but it may not work the same for you because we have different hair-types.
Anyways, goodluck
Hope that helps. I guess I added some general hair-health tips at the end too.
Kind Regards,
Loup.

The new Pantene line of Pro-restoratives works great. The one you want is the Frizz Control. Also they sell this stuff at beauty supply and some other stores, it's called Super Skinny Serum, it comes in a clear bottle and you use on pump on damp hair. It makes your hair super-smooth and shiny and it takes less time to dry it as well.

some tips:
1. condition your hair daily. conditioning is more important than shampooing.
2. when shampooing your hair, just massage the scalp gently but firmly. don't go crazy on your scalp and start scratching it with your fingernails.
3. shampoo your head only. don't try to lather up the entire length of your hair. when you rinse it, the lather will reach the ends of your hair anyway.
4. rinse your hair with cold water. it makes your hair shiny.
5. don't towel dry your hair. you know, fluffing it up with the towel like mad? don't do that. just squeeze it for a bit to get rid of excess moisture, then let it dry naturally.
hope these help.

How about before you shower prep yourself by putting your hair in a wrap and tie it with a silk/satin cloth and cover it with a plastic shower cap.

What you do is you wrap your hair; if you don't know how to ask a hair dresser, so you wrap your hair and use a shower cap. or you can just use the new garnier fruitis collection.
