It is a small town in County Kildare about five miles west of the town of Kildare and maybe 35 from Dublin. It is a fascinating place The river Liffey passes through it, also the Grand Canal, the main railway line to Cork. There are more bridges there than you could believe. Canal, main road and the railway are all bridged across the river and there are roads over railways, rivers and canals.

It's on the way from Dublin to Limerick and used to be the worst bottleneck in Ireland, so I'm very glad it's been bypassed.
