I think the whole dinner and movie thing sucks as a first date bc you don't really get to talk to the person and get to know them if your in a movie. Plus the whole dinner thing is so cliche'. I would try and afternoon date and go to coldstone or talk a walk in the park. Or you guys could head down to the beach and chill out there. Or do something that she is interested in...like if she likes painting and art stuff you could go to ceramic cafe and still get to know her better and have a bit of fun too. I think any opportunity to talk on the first date is important. It will help her decide if she will want to go out with you again.

Um...I went to dinner and a movie but you could try just dinner or you could do dinner at a jazz club...or you could order in or um...hmmm maybe a concert..or if it's warm where you are, you could go to an amusement park or maybe even bowling!

Going out for coffee or to the park or the beach. There are lots of things you could do. Be creative. Its hard to advise without knowing where you live generally.

There's nothing wrong with dinner if you take her to Paris, well maybe you can't afford that, I'm sorry.
