Excess movement in the area and the pressure from your skin and stomach creasing and pushing on itself can increase your risk for migration and rejection.
Light exercise is okay though I would try to avoid crunches, but use caution for at least the first 4 months because that is when you piercing is most likely to reject or migrate. Also be sure to clean the piercing well if you work up a sweat.

Like the others said, maybe wait a week or two before you start doing crunches. It will probably hurt, and will most likely just irritate it. But no, I don't think it would cause it to migrate, once it is healed.

i'm not sure about that. i do crunches everyday, but i didn't after i got my navel pierced. it hurt too much. i waited maybe a week or two. and i have a VERY tiny belly button so if anyone's is gonna migrate it's mine!
if i were you i'd wait until it's done discharging fluids during the healing. after that cruch away!

I have mine pierced, and nothing ever changed with it. I work out 5-7 times a week. HOWEVER.. If you are prone to sweating on your stomach when you work out, make sure you clean your piercing afterwards.. There is nothing more gross than an infected naval piercing..

I never thought about it! I've never had any problem with migration and rejection and have had many surface piercings. However, I'm pretty lazy, so maybe that contributed to it not moving while I had it done. :)

I'm not positive, but I wouldnt think so... its the same angle your body would be in when you are sitting.... or whatever else... it might effect the piercing just because of the muscle contracting repeatedly, but it shouldnt be that bad. ask the piercer when you have it done tho.
