You can try the powder/pills that are meant to help, but we didn't have any success with it. The only real way to stop it is to clean up every time the dog goes, thereby eliminating the problem.

There are pills that will stop them from eating it. You can purchase it from pet stores and also from the vet. My dog had not side effects to it. Now she is cured and runs away from it.

At our vet clinic we sell something called "Forbid". It's a powder that you add to their food and apparently ( I wouldn't know first hand) it makes their feces taste HORRIBLE! It's worked for all our clients! Maybe it'll work for you too!

if its a puppy, it will try to eat its own poo, because it smells the same, just try to remove his poo he will grow out of it when he gets older, also when you see him going for it, give him a treat he will soon learn x

try a OTC treatment called corophaglia (spelling?) usually the use of one box will stop the problem forever.
