I've recently been to both cities and I prefer Paris. Here is my assessment:

Pros for Paris:
1. London is more expensive
2. I think Paris is more romantic
3. There is less hustle and bustle in Paris.
4. If you are American then going to a country where everyone speaks a different language is very interesting
5. Food is better
6. Paris looks great at night. They don't call it the city of lights for nothing.

Pros for London:
1. Their tube is 10 times better then paris subway.
2. Lots of Broadway shows to go to.
3. The big red bus is cheap and takes you all around the city.

I'm admittedly biased, since I was born in Paris, and lived there or near there on and off for a number of years. But to the extent that I can be objective about it, I would say yes. Not that I didn't like London, but I thought that by and large Paris is more esthetically pleasing. As far as British cities are concerned, I went to Edinburgh and thought it was more beautiful than London.

Sight wise, they're both comparable. Actually they both look alot alike. The rivers go through and the buildings are old and grand. However, the food options in Paris are way better! London's food is not that great. Paris has more to see within the city too. London is just like a great big city with shopping and some sites (London Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace). However, Paris has the Catacombs, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysee, the Louvre Museum, sidewalk cafes, great bakeries, etc... No, I prefer Paris.

I believe that Paris is a more beautiful city than London as it has areas where there are no cars allowed & seems to have much more flowers and beautiful looking buildings around the city compared to London. It also always seems clean & all the residents are really friendly. x

I love Paris but having been born and bred in London, I think London has a charm that no where else in the world has. We have 1000s of years of history, and evidence to prove this in places. Paris is about equal for me.

In America, I have been from the East Coast to the West Coast to the Gulf of Mexico. I have lived in many States from North Carolina to California. I have yet to find a most beautiful place, as everywhere has it's own distinct beauty. From Desert to Mountains to the Ocean Shores.
With that said; I will assume Paris and London are both beautiful it their own personal way.
