You can't fry fish in the oven, you bake or broil them in the oven.

i am not sure if this is the same thing as battering, but this is how my mom makes her catfish and it turns out pretty good.

Cajun Baked Catfish
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 teaspoons garlic salt
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 (8 ounce) fillets catfish
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, combine the first seven ingredients; brush over both sides of fish.
Place fish in a 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10-13 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

Try rolling your fish fillets in crushed cornflakes and baking them. I usually add a little red pepper and salt to the flakes. The fish seem to crisp better if you spray your pan with a product like Pam and then lightly spray your breaded fish (after putting them on the pan). I bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes (depends on how big, thick, etc. your fish are).
