... "or that Muhammad spoke to the angel Gabriel in a cave. And yet billions of people claim to be certain about such things. As a result, Iron Age ideas about everything high and low “ sex, cosmology, gender equality, immortal souls, the end of the world, the validity of prophecy, etc. “ continue to divide our world and subvert our national discourse. Many of these ideas, by their very nature, hobble science, inflame human conflict and squander scarce resources. "(Sam Harris)

I fully agree. There is no proof for these things at all, yet it never occurs to many people to question it. Part of the problem is that many people are brought up in an entire culture based around their religion - whether that is Catholicism, Islam, etc. - and they often attend schools based around that religion as well. As a result, you have a brainwashed child that - unless it has above average intelligence and makes the effort to think for itself - turns into a brainwashed adult.

No it is not true.
I have many real reasons that are not only good but are great:
1. i was born weighing 2lbs5oz and at the time of my birth there was no medical answer as to how i could have survived because of several medical issues and i was a breech birth, there were no explanations for my survival other than GOD.
2. my ARMY unit went to Iraq with 107 Soldiers in what is called Light-skinned Ambulances and we were on the front line for a year evacuating Soldiers and airmen and Marines and civilians, we were never in a "cold area" we traveled over 50,000 miles and evacuated over 3900 people at last count (the count does not include to car bomb that detonated two hundred meters in front of our exit convoy where i evaced a civilian). we returned with every solder and not one arms injury. statistically that is not possible. Military Intel will tell you that it isn't possible and yet it happened. the reason it happened is because 107 Southern Christians went to do a job and we all prayed and prayed and we all came home.
there always has been unrest in the world: see Genesis, there always will be but there are many miracles that happen every single day that people shrugged off as science or something strange.

The Holy Spirit won't lie to you - won't be able to lie to you. even although, as a manner to have faith interior the Mysteries of Christianity, that's mandatory to droop reason. this is a very different count from self-deception. that's merely conceivable to droop your thought in reason if the Holy Spirit provides your request to take delivery of the present of religion. as quickly as you have that, you would be waiting to settle for concerns that could't be proved by using reason - which includes bread and wine being switched over into the physique and blood of Jesus Christ. this might seem confusing to settle for, even although that's what Christ suggested to the Apostles. To gray Tower: Your looking can bring about case you persist with the link under. this is desirable to absolutely everyone else who owes it to themselves to locate all the data while searching for an suggested experience of right and incorrect. Unbelievers can mock all they like - yet interior the top, it could have been their determination besides the fact that if to locate or not, and having explored, besides the fact that if to act or not. As for examples, nicely, this talk board is done of people who've perspectives in keeping with their very own consciences yet who're deceiving themselves spiritually in the event that they think of that they want do no better than place self belief of their very own uninformed thoughts with out looking extra.

If "reason" means "explanation or proof in scientific terms," then you're right. Even the Bible doesn't present us with how the resurrection took place, only that it did. So, one would not be able to "prove" it scientifically.
But if "reason" means "explanation," then I am a person on earth who has a good reason to believe that Jesus rose from the dead.
In fact, that reason is that I believe it to be true. And not so much that I believe it to be true, but rather that I believe it. (In good conscience I believe it to be so and will announce it respecting the consciences of others).
By the way, I disagree with the oversimplistic association of religion with "Iron Age" ideas. This would seem to say that all religions have a common outlook on each of these topics, which they don't. And if one were to reduce this even to Christianity, the same holds true. Not all Christian denominations hold the same teachings about each of these topics. To use a quote from Augustine of Hippo... "he who distinguishes well, reasons well." It looks like Sam Harris doesn't reason well because he certainly doesn't distinguish well.

Well, using the word 'balkanized' is inaccurate, isn't it? What's does religion have to with that? And see, for something so apparently influential, how is it that we are NOT stuck in the Iron Age? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
Are you going to argue that religious people do not delve into reason? Science? Read some history and you'll find that point of view false.
Read some history about Sir Isaac Newton, read some reasoning like that of C.S. Lewis. I suppose you don't read anything that conflicts with your vehemence, it won't allow you or Mr. Harris to acknowledge the truth. Does it?
No you are in the midst of hatred. Jesus told me about you both.
So you drew attention to someone that thinks like you, perhaps that has the same command over the English language as you, and that pays about as much attention to that language as you do history. You only know that you want to discredit.
Have at it dude. And the answer to your question is a obvious 'NO'.
In case you didn't know it, you were just pwned.

a human without any religion or belief is more like an animal.
a human following a false religion or belief will be worse than an animal because he'll be in hell where animals don't go.
It is the prophets who brought the civilization to humanity,
they taught people about everything they need in life to survive.
Most of the basic laws of today are derived from their teachings.
Even the Athiest Scientists proved that without prophet Mohammed, today we will be living in the very dark old Ages.

There were over five hundred witnesses to Jesus rising from the dead then ascending into heaven. Your statement about Jesus is false I have lots of good reasons.

Well there were eyewitness that saw Jesus resurrected. They wrote the gospels and spread news even if they knew that meant persecution. The apostles almost all died horribly from persecution.
There is enough evidence for someone who wants to believe but there is never enough for someone who doesn't.

There is only one God. This God YHVH makes His presence known to each of us from within. God want us to believe in Him. He has had His Words written down from the beginning just for this purpose.
I can tell that you lack faith. this is a huge shame for you. This means you have not felt God in your heart or you have and have neglected to respond to Him.
Everything you wrote about has an answer. It is all in the volume of the book, the Bible. KJV 1611.
It is time for you to go there.><>
