The cost for the spaying is actually pretty much in line for where I am.
The average here is between $150 and $200...of course it's around $225 to $250 if the cat is in heat when she's spayed.
The cost of the rabies shot is more than double what we pay here...rabies shots are in the $15 range.
But the amount you pay will depend on the area you live and also on how many Vets there are within a reasonable driving distance of each other.

It really depends on where you live. some vets know they can charge more in different places. Kind of like when it is Christmas time things that have to do with Christmas go up in price. It also depends on who you are choosing as your vet. some vets are very good at what they do and do not charge as much. i think the cheapest i have ever found was about 30 but then that was at a even for homeless animals so yah. make sure to look around

That is about the right rate and is pretty average. Once they add up every little thing.
But usually if you call the animal shelter or the humane society they can point you to a vet that will do it for far less.

It's about the same cost at my vet where I live. There are other vets in the area though that charge $250 for a spay.

It depends where you live. I paid $120.00 for my female, but another vet here wanted $180.00. Sometimes, if there's a cat epidemic, the Humane Society have a program where you can get them done by donation. Whatever you can afford. I had two males fixed that way.

I had to pay $160 but I know some animal shelters will do it cheaper. My friend got her cat spayed for $40.

I paid 16.00 for rabbies shot . at my vets office. I think 35 or 50. for spaying each. There was one of the St. Francis of Asisi buses coming into town on Thurs. in my community I took all three of my pets there.

That's too bad. Most shelters offer discounts for spaying and neutering, and sometimes vaccines. Our shelter charges $10 for cat surgeries.

i just asked this yesterday, and was told by a vet tech it would be about $225-250 for the spay, and about $100 for all vaccinations.

That sounds about right. I paid a little less than that but it was 7 years ago.
