Some say it all happened in fulfillment of the prophecy, but it seems like Jesus did whatever he could to make sure that the prophecy was fulfilled - throwing the money changers out of the temple (an insult to the temple), stating that God would destroy the temple (a threat). He took actions that he knew would get him killed. Can you really trust that it all happened in fulfillment of the prophecy, or was Jesus just so consumed with the idea that he was the Messiah, that he made sure he "fulfilled" the prophecy? Did he do it on purpose to secure his place in history? To bolster Christianity? Or was he just crazy - like Heaven's Gate, Jim Jones, or the Waco bunch?

All thoughts welcome, though some will be more predictable than others.

Yehashua bin Yosef al Nazareth MARTYRED himself to demonstrate his faith and to allow his death to spread his teachings all over the world for people to become better jews.. To bring about the coming of the TRUE MOSHIACH (annointed one - aka - messiah)..

His words have been twisted around over the centuries and manipulated for individual's personal goals (selling christianity to the Romans)..

He was a teacher, a sage, and a faith healer and he made himself a target of scorn to create a spiritual uprising in the jewish community..

His death was just the culmination of his plan to bring people closer to a spiritual "REVELATION"..To make people follow THE LAW set forth in the Tanakh (Old Testament)..

The money changers you talk about were actually prostitutes and gamblers. Could you imagine the disrespect? If you were a Jew back then, would you think that it was okay to desecrate God's home like that? I don't think he instigated at all because the Sadducees and the Pharisees tried to find a way to arrest him, but couldn't find a way. They had to use Judas to betray him. He was controversial because he pointed out the wrongs of the religious leaders. That's a strong man that I'm willing to follow!

I can't imagine he had any intention of getting himself killed initially..... but once the process was underway, he couldn't really do anything to prevent it as to do so would be in direct violation of his own teachings.

Afterall... going ahead with his execution was just the natural conclusion of "turning the other cheek" ...

... Which is why for anyone intending to live a full life, it is a really stupid idea...

At least he was consistant though, and stuck to his principles.
Jesus was an admirable guy.... if a little influenced by the religious domination of society at the time.... He would have done better in the modern age....
His disciples though... were morons. They're to blame for christianity to date.... alongside the later Romans...
But that, friends and fiends.... is another story.

If Jesus existed at all, he was mentally ill. Mentally ill people are very likely to get themselves killed due to erratical behavior such as the ones you mentioned.

Whether Jesus really thought he was God or even the Son of God is beside the point. Whether he really set out to get himself violently killed is also beside the point. The truth is...he was mentally ill. He thought he could do huge, impossible things and people so wanted it to be true they wrote stories about things that very possibly never even happened. People need something to believe in and will trust in the most bizarre things. Some mentally ill people today have large and faithful followings.

No.....He did it to fulfill the scriptures.

If He didn't do it, we would still be dead in our sins.
