I would personally suggest that you bring your car back again and only walk on alternate days when it really suits you, as it is vital and important to have punctuality and arrive at the right time in the work place. For other activities that don't have a direct affect on your life, you can choose to walk.
There are alternative ways to reduce your carbon footprint, for example:
- Investing in carbon off-setting (i.e. you contribute money to a project which tries to make up for your consumption of carbon, by donating it to conservation projects and renewable energy initiatives)
- Growing lots of plants in your garden or planting one or two small trees (spice it up - it could be a couple of lettuce, potato, carrot plants - the choice is yours, or you could plant a small apple tree)
- Reducing the number of flights you take abroad (This has to be the one of the major culrpits for increased global emissions)
- Switching off the lights once a room is empty (A simple, but nevertheless effective way for carbon crack down)
- Buy energy-effecient lightbulbs and other electrical appliances (An energy saving bulb only consumes 1/5 of the energy that a normal one does)
- Switch off electrical appliances like the TV or computer when nobody else is using them (Yet another simple and effective thing to do)
- And if you have the money, buy an solar panel to provide you with solar energy to power your electricity OR switch your electricity/gas company to a renewable one
--------
There are a whole load of other ways that you can undertake to reduce your carbon emissions, but hopefully I;ve left you with a few.

i've got replaced my carbon footprint albeit in procedures i might never have envisioned. 3 years in the past i replace into green concious yet nonetheless left a reasonably great print with my SUV and wasteful potential prepare. I washed and dried outfits after in elementary terms one placed on, left the A/C on as quickly as I wasn't domicile and that i drove my SUV everywhere, even to the corner marketplace. This all replaced while my frustration with US politics and predatory comercialism reached a factor the place I fled the country. Now I stay in, of all places, China. Now I dontchronic a motor vehicle, I journey an electric powered motorbike. I dont wash my outfits till they desire them and that i line dry them (no dryers in so China), My new spouse has pushed domicile the will for water/ability conservation, no longer out of any green schedule, yet somewhat from a lifetime of being too undesirable to have adequate money such luxuries. the certainty that we are in a position to have adequate money it rather is beside the point, this is merely no longer needed. i've got discovered the lesson that severe potential intake is a cultural disese. sure, China is the main polluted place I even have ever lived. The undesirable air high quality sometime is so undesirable my eyes burn and the poisonous waters have me swearing off fish and fending off untreated eating water. do no longer blame the undemanding guy or woman besides the fact that if, the subject lower back is a societal one. Deng Xiao Peng informed the loads that to be wealthy is excellent and then he bumped off any limitations to unscrupulous procedures of achieveing suggested glory. China is becoming on the fumes and exhusts from 10000 factories all dumping unhindered. in keeping with risk the question being asked must be directed at an even bigger entitiy. Say governments and mega companies. the undemanding guy is doing what he can.

The plants have already taken care of your footprint. U are being swindled ,the rich want all that fuel for there selves. Don't give in to this. The plants have taken care of the CO2 . There is no evidence of a methane problem and all I can imagine is their Christal ball was dirty because I am sure they didn't measure the methane.

Well, you could do like Al Gore and just buy carbon credits and go back to your old ways. This is said to be effective.
