Maybe it's because their religion is based on fear.

I think that's a pretty general question. I have noticed a lot of comments from people who do not claim to be Christian also do not let you email them. So the question should be - If you are going to make comments, why don't you let people email you? Minus the most Christians part.
I don't let people email me through my profile because I do not use my Yahoo email. I do however have a link to my blog in my comments, which has a way to email me.
I'm sure for those who don't have their email set up, there is a similar reason.

Is that really a big concern of yours? Maybe some people did allow email at one time, but have received so much hate mail from people with differing beliefs that they stopped the mail. It's very wrong of you to make assumptions and generalizations. Email me if you don't like my answer. I don't care.
May God Bless you.

Well it would be more than likely
that we would get emails like this one:
From: drwooguy
Subject: You must be numb from the waist up!
Message: Please try to remove yourself from the hard place and the rock(s)!!!
lmao @ U - I'm qw96tuq034t[qh05quyt5q!
Instead of starting a debate or conversation,
this person just decided that a "cut down"
would suffice!
Showing the willful
ignorance or intolerance
of another's belief or religion.
But you did not find my email blocked did you?

I let people email me. The emails I get that are not from Christians are always hateful emails. It seems non-Christians only want to spread hate. So go ahead send me a hateful email because of my answer.

There ya go! Generalizing! There are always exceptions to the rules. I find that when I want to e-mail someone about something outrageous they don't allow emails and it's NOT Christians but they ARE from another religious group.

I can't speak for everyone but when you start getting death threats and horribly rude comments sent to your e-mail box on a regular basis there is an inclination to not allow e-mails. I have only been doing this for a few weeks and I am amazed at the immature and evil comments that come through. As for myself I decided to ignore these threats (God's got my back -so who should I fear) and I keep this e-mail account just for Yahoo answers.

There's a difference between posting on a public forum like YA and recieving junk / hate mail.
Don't forget that you can add comments to a resolved question.
I don't allow IM because I leave that for family and a very few close friends. I don't want just anyone putting messages on my desktop.

I'm not a christian, but I don't allow others to email me because my email address is my first name and my last name @yahoo.com and I do not wish it to be shown.
Besides, I have heard that there are some crazy people on here that will harass you to death if they don;t like your opinion.

There is nothing Christian or in the bible that says you need to invite people to abuse their e-mails. There is nothing Christian about letting quacks fill their e-mails with quacky stuff.
Answers is not a forum its ANSWERS. Go to chat if you want a two way conversation.
By the way,
There is nothing CHRISTIAN about calling those who don't agree with you liars, hypocrites, and deceivers.
IN fact that would be UNCHRISTIAN and HYPOCRITICAL!
Perhaps you need to go back to your bible and read for comprehension this time.

I've answered a few religion questions and always invite whomever to contact me via email - I guess I'm one of those non-typical Christians.
