Why do girls want to control their boyfriend?

It's what they do.
Mostly out of insecurity. Girls are inherently insecure about themselves, their looks and their relationships.
So either they try to control every aspect of their relationship, or they test to see how far they can go.
It's up to their men to keep them at a short leash - because, illogically, they are attracted to men that do not allow girls to tell him what to do.
