No, so far there has only been a recall on the wet foods sold in a can or foil pouch.
Try Canidae dog food - there is NO corn in this brand! Also, they only use human grade food products (no rendered pound/zoo animals here).

Feed your dog something that costs at least a $1/lb of food and you'll likely be getting something that is a much better quality than what you have been feeding. My dog is eating Timberwolf Organics which is $54 for a 33 lb bag, and I never worry about any of the ingredients. I know she is getting the best she possibly can, considering all her allergies (I'd have her on Innova EVO if I could, but she's allergic). Also, there have been no dry dog food recalls in the past year.

No dry food was recalled.
Dogs are sometimes allergic to corn, but many also allergic to wheat and other ingredients. I have a dog allergic to lamb, which is rare but it happens. The main risk is a pet allergy to a certain ingredient. If your pet is eating a food with it and thriving, then it is not a problem. Pick a high quality food that meets AAFCO standards that your pet likes and you are doing fine. I tend to avoid supermarket foods because they do have more additives and dyes that dogs can be allergic to. I have had terrible allergy problems in the past with Purina foods and avoid them as a result. Likewise i have tried some superpremium foods and had bad results with my pets. Its highly individual and it requires trial and error to find the right food.
15 is about average lifespan for a poodle. It sounds like you were a good owner and her time had just come. I'm sorry for your loss, but don't feel guilty. You did fine.

Go to the FDA website www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/petfood.... it lists all companies up to date recall information. So far with dog food it is only wet but there are also some dog treats on there that have a different recall happening. The only dry food I remember listed is a feline science diet m/d. This is the food that my cat died from eating. If you think for any reason your pet has been affected - call your vet immediately! Kidney failure is not reversable. My cat was at the vet for a long time and was on life support - he still died! Do not risk your pets health, try to find foods with out wheat gluten in the mean time, if you can afford these foods and they are not on the list- buy them. As a treat for your pet, cook them chicken or liver (boiling it works great) but no wet food - this seems the most wide spread affected! I hope all these companies get their act together. Science Diet was horrible to me when I called and I have statements from my vet, my receipt and the poisoned food!

I'm just guessing but wouldn't the dry dog food also have the wheat gluten in it that they say is the cause of the contamination. The dry, pouch, and canned food would surely be made out of the same manufacturing plants and wouldn't they use the same ingredients from the same source to make the dry food also? I was feeding the cheapo Ol' Roy dry for about one week and my puppy had very loose stools. I'm not feeding him that now. I don't know what to do anymore.

I have fed my 2 dogs dry dog food for the past 12 years without any problems, i look on the bag for low protein content no more than 20% the lower the better, a high protein content makes a dog hyperactive, i have never heard about any dog food that was unhealthy.
