Frame it with a picture of him... and a new $2 bill.

The old one will have written at the top, "Payable in Silver to the bearer on demand". This meant that people who didn't want PAPER money could always get the equivalent in Silver at the bank.
Nowadays, no coins are made of real silver. And the new bills haven't been "silver certificate" bills since the early 1970's??

Also, use a third bill to show the reverse side. There has always been a controversy about, "whose tiny little left foot is that under the table???"

Do you have any other special things that remind you of him? Gather them up and display them all in a frame together with the 2 dollar bill. :-)

Never. The most I ever carry is $20-$30. There's really no reason to have that much at any one time...It's just asking for trouble.

Not only frame it with a picture of him. Cut a piece of his favorite shirt put the bill and a photo of him on the shirt then frame. The shirt then becomes the back ground. Then when looking at your photo piece, it will really be part of him.

Buy a nice small frame, and matte that coordinates with the color in the bill. This way....you will preserve the bill, and be able to display it as well!

Probably go to a professional framer, get it sealed some how. But was your granddad unlucky? I heard 2 dollar bills are unlucky.

I looooove shadow boxes. You can find them at any crafts store. It displays the bill, or anything else for that matter, and adds depth to it.
