Why are there so many versions of the word of God (the different versions of the wholly bible!)???

They can't decide how many wrongs make a right.

Or maybe it is simply to promote slightly different agendas according to the business that uses that particular version of the handbook.

Holy Bible, The same reason there are so many denominations, every on wants their own way of doing things. Each version of the bible is written in ways that make it easier for people to read and makes it easier to understand. However, rest assured that no matter the revision, the meaning remains the same. The word cannot be changed because it is of God. The enlightenment comes from the word and the Holy Spirit will fulfill the word within each person. Read the bible, no matter the revision.

Because different translators took different liberties as far as adding/removing, etc. There are lots of "versions" of the Bible that are essentially the same, though some are in different forms of English (like the King James Bible vs. modern English ones).

Because language changes. If we kept the King James Bible we would have to speak in a totally archaic way, with thee's and thou's and doth's which just are pointless. The language needs to be reviewed so it's still accessible and useful for the public

The Bible isn't the only place where God is discussed. God is everywhere and called many things - because people are everywhere and speak different languages - and live in different cultures. Part of it is because of translation; however another part is to meet the agenda of each religion thus the reason I prefer to be spiritual rather than religious. Did you also know that higher members of each church meet together and discuss certain topics to decide how best to go about certain things...then they put there own religious twists on it. On the positive side they all have two things in common God and the uplifting of their own church.

As we learn more about grammatical constructs of the Greek and Hebrew, we have improved on the translations. Also, as more earlier documents are studied we have more understanding of the nature of the biblical texts.

its for that people can understand the bible you would not want a little kid reading an adult bible so they make different versions so people can understand what there saying bust it is all the same.

When you translate something it is easy to get different versions of the same thing.
