I have really bad lower back pain. I've gotten used to it because I've lived with it for so long but
sometimes it gets really bad to where I cant sit or I will literally cry. I've tried back pain stretches
from information I've gotten online but that had just made my back problems worse. It does feel way better
sitting straight upright but by doing so i've noticed no change in my back pain in the long run. The last time my doctor checked my back was when I was in 4th grade and I had scoliosis. Is there anything I can do for my lower back pain? I know its a common problem so there has to be something out there that people have tried and succeeded with

What I do when my back (any part of my body) hurts is; when laying down to go to bed I lay flat on my back, with my hands above my head until I until I am either asleep or completely relaxed. The only thing is I do not change my routine of what I do everyday. I will take pain relievers if the pain gets to extreme, but when I go to bed and lay in this position I wake up and have no problems (unless I do strainful lifting or bending). I don't know why doctors tell people to exercise when it comes to serious problems like this. It is like they are not hearing what you are saying. We need to ask them if they have these kinds of problems and what do they do?!!

I would agree with the previous answers however the best thing to check for are the common everday things you do while up and asleep my brother is currently goin through the exact same thing just in a more extreeme case he uses pain killers heating pads stretches ,physical therapy when it all came down to it it was the way he picked up boxes at work and sleeped but i would suggest to just take care of your back all day which your doing hope u get better

I recommend you to go to the doctor. I had the same problem and I was told I have spondylothesis L1, L2. I have a vertebrae cracked wish cause my spine to slip forward. I am getting therapy for the pain and it has really helped me alot. I Don't need surgery yet which I hope i don't cause I'm afraid of surgery. (I also have scoliosis)
See a doctor before the problem gets more worst. Hope you feel better.

If your back pains are that bad I would go see a doctor first, he may tell you to do some stretches or maybe even just tell you to try and relax. For long term help, swimming and working out our abs are good remedies for lower back pain. Swimming strengthens the lower back muscles and working out our abs takes some of the pressures from your lower back muscles; sounds weird I know but it works.
Hope things work out for you, but my first step in a case like yours would be to see a doctor.

I would suggest you see your doctor and get a referral to get a scan of your back. Best to make sure that it is in healthy shape.
You can also see a Chiropractor and they should be able to make it better in time.... Another option is Chinese herbal treatment... This could either be in the form of acupuncture, massage therapy or herbal medicine....
Get lots of bed rest and try to avoid too much strenuous activities...
Good luck.

#1. Go to a chiropractor. Make sure that you describe the pain and the symptoms as acurately as possible. Be patient and work with the doctor. This problem did not occur overnight, so it wont be cured overnight. #2. If you do not get positive results from the chiropractor, then go to a M.D..

I have lower back pain also...i go to my local school of massage and let the students work on my back. The cost is a lot cheaper than going to a professional.

You should try acupuncture to see if that helps at all. My b/f's doctor suggested massage, but it is so expensive. After his massage he said his pain was a bit better, but was still there. His back pain only happens at night when he's been sleeping for a few hours.
