If your dogs are adult dogs and you just got them, I'd try to find out what they ate from their previous owner. Sometimes dogs can be finicky eaters just like cats but I wouldn't spend a fortune buying different dog foods to find out what they like. I would wait a week or two between trying each kind that you have already gotten. They will eat when they get hungry enough and this is not being cruel to them...you have to let them know that you are the boss...and they will have much more respect for you..not only on feeding issues but in all aspects. I wish I could remember the exact web-site that I found when I was searching for info about my sheltie, but I found a very interesting link from one of the sites that had some really good information about dog foods...that is dog food as opposed to human food...and it really surprised me because I have always heard that giving dogs human food was a really bad idea, but they were talking about how dog food companies started getting really big back in the 70's by using mostly stuff that is left over from things that were not good enough for anything else. Then they add lots of stuff just so they can put all the good stuff on the labels and not be fraudelent. If anyone knows anything about this or has read this same information please put the link on here for other pet owners to read...really interesting. It definitely changed the way I think of dog food..and it seemed to be a very reputable source. Good luck.

You haven't said how long she'b been in your home but like when I adopted my dog over a year ago it took him about a week to eat something on his own. I was concerned too when I was told before I got him what food he was being given that he didn't eat. It was because he was he needed to adjust to his new environment and was confused as to what was going on. After 3 days I started hand feeding him his dog food and he would eat a little but not a lot and finally on the 5th day he started eating on his own. He was drinking water and was playful and seemed happy too but just had to adjust to his new surroundings and me as his mommy (along with a new name). But you do need to stop with the people food period and let her know that she's not getting people food all the time. Now if you want to train her or something that's find but use small pieces of chicken as treats but not as meals.

I had the same problem with my siberian and what you need to do is when you feed him tonight leave that food out until he eats it whether it be two, three, or four days. If he has not ate it after that put a raw egg in it, stir then see if he eats it. If they do, then they do not want dry food, but try the leaving it out to eat first. Now, They have a recall on dog food that isn't dry because of poison, so you will want to put some kind of broth in your dogs food (as a subsitute) until the other dog food is safe. DO NOT GIVE THEM WHAT YOU ARE EATING FOR DINNER! This can become a bad habit/situation.

I much prefer the premium dog foods. They have no fillers and are not as expensive as people say they are, because you feed less. I use Nutro, myself.
Your best bet is to pick one and stick with it. One reason they may not be eating is because you change their food too much and it's upsetting their stomachs. They'll eat when they're hungry.

I too have a very fussy dogs, and the only food they will eat is Pedigree! I know, you'll hear they are full of fillers and crap, but you know what, my vet has no problem with it and my dogs are healthy so I am going to continue to feed them pedigree. Good luck

Try mixing a small portion of the new food into their daily menu, and then increase the ratio gradually. Some dogs just don't take new menu easily.
