I could be wrong since I wasn't there, but I heard she received it at the end.
This was so that there would be no chance of 'overshadowing' the honors that other students were receiving-- so that the clapping for her wasn't overpowering to others.
Not only that, but as I understand it, this was done by her request. She's seems like a truly caring and thoughtful person.
