Would you be ok with your girlfriend/boyfriend having gifts and pics from their last serious relationship? The gifts are stuffed animals and a bracelet. The pics are of them kissing but not a makeout kiss just like a cute pic pose kiss? She says she has a hard time throwing away stuff and that she keeps everything, which I really agree, she does keep EVERYTHING. I still think this is weird. What do you think?

I think it is no good for her to still have that stuff. I know a lot of girls keep those kind of things but it isnt really healthy for a relationship to hold on to the past. My wife had a bunch of letters and pictures in a box when we first got together, but she got rid of everything when we became serious. I think if she really looks at you as the person she wants to be with for the rest of her life she will get rid of that stuff from the past and look at building a future, however maybe you guys arent that serious and it is not the time for her to do so. She would probably be pissed if you guys broke up and she had gotten rid of that stuff for you, even though she should really get rid of it for her own sake of getting on with her life

Honestly, if she has them laid out for everyone to see, I think she still cares for her ex. Now, if she hides them away and keeps it, then thats a better sign of moving on.
If she wears the jewelry too much, shes into him, unless its insignificant. Now if its a heart or something like J& E or "foreve" boyyyy shes not over him. Having kissing pics all over the place for you to admire, is wrong. She needs to let the other guy go, before she can begin a new relationship.

I think this chick needs to let go of the past and be in the here and now. Obviously she still likes this other dude, or she wouldn't still have all of his crap. Tell her to lose this stuff or it's over. Trust me, you need to put your foot down. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if she was still banging this guy on the side behind your back. Grow a pair, bub.

It is ok to keep that stuff, but out of consideration for you...they should get a shoebox and put the things in there. thats what i made my boyfriend do. it makes me feel a lot better with it in a box, and it also helps the other person keep there memories.

I think it is normal and would not worry about it as long as it is the past. If she is keeping it because she wants him back then that is a different story. They probably had a lot of history together and wants to preserve those memories. GOOD LUCK

as long as the pics aren't out on display or anything it's not a big deal. i have tons of old pics and gifts in boxes packed up. it's not that they mean anything but they did at one time and i don't feel right forgetting my past just because i have another future.

yeah its werid.. if she loved you she would want no connection with her ex... she would throw the kissing pics away, the bracelet and the animals, b.c whenever she sees those things. she will think of him, so you have to tell her you dont like it..

Then don't stress it. It's just memories. Chances are she will eventually get rid of most of the stuff and just keep a couple keepsakes, if anything at all.

I don't think it is weird that she kept this stuff. However, I do think that she should box it up and possibly get rid of it in a little while.
