Is there anything related to cancer or cancer treatment that would cause someone to burp uncontrollably when they are talking to someone? And I mean every 2-3 words a burp.
I was talking to an employee on the phone that was updating his sick time and he kept burping. It was so incredibly disgusting that I couldn't take it any more and referred him to speak with my supervisor (and I don't get disgusted easily at all). Rude and nasty.
Am I just being unsympathetic or is my disgust justified?

No, I am being totally serious. The guy has been on extended sick leave for at least 9 months because of cancer or a stroke (no one but his immediate supervisor knows for sure). We never see him, he just faxes notes from his doctor every couple of weeks.
This is no joke. This IS a very serious question that I request a serious answer to.
