There is a natural rememdy, that you can find in the health food store called "Rescue Remedy". It is excellent for calming. I use it to go to the dentist, as I have the same symptoms. It is also safe for children. I give it to my son, before he has to take a test. Give it a try.

Look into surrounding yourself with lavender products. Not only is Lavender natural, it soothes and calms the body. The smell of lavender triggers the mind to ease down and relax. Also look into changing your diet...
Make sure your daily diet includes foods such as wholegrain cereals, leafy green vegetables and low fat dairy products. Nicotine, caffeine and stimulant drugs (such as those that contain caffeine) trigger your adrenal glands to release adrenaline, which is one of the main stress chemicals. Avoid salty processed foods and opt to fresh unprocessed. Because there are so many different types of anxiety disorders including-
Generalised anxiety disorder
Social phobias – fear of social situations
Specific phobias – for example a fear of open spaces (agoraphobia) or enclosed spaces (claustrophobia)
Panic disorders – frequent and debilitating panic attacks
Obsessive compulsive disorder
Post traumatic stress disorder.

Its hard to determine what treatment you need for a specific area. Have you tried hypnotherapy? There nothing much more ican tell you. But be sure to check out this site. It will give you a little information on maintaining and correcting anxiety.

Take care,
Lauren

My mom gives me half a Xanax before I go in for a blood test or shots because otherwise I attack the doctors :-D. But if you just have panic attacks, I recommend bringing something to drink with you and asking your doctor - who you'll be seeing anyway - for a milder antianxiety prescription.

Instead of taking a pill, you should confront whatever it is that frightens you so much at the doctor's. That shouldn't make you feel that way. If you are that uncomfortable there, you should think about it...maybe find another doctor. I'm sure your fears are unfounded.

This is known as the "White coat syndrome"...I have it, too...What helps me is taking a deep breath through the nostrils, and exhaling through the mouth while saying paaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, three or four times...This should do it...But if you need to, try this exercise again...Don't do it too much or you will hyperventilate...

I'd call the DR's office & tell them what you told us. Call them at least a couple of days before. Ask for their advice
