And how would you know you're getting what you've paid for?

All this about pharmacies outside the US being substandard is bull. I've been buying a particular maintenance drug from Canada for years and the drug they dispense comes from exactly the same manufacturer as in the US in the same packaging. The difference is the US cost is $243/mo vs the Canadian cost of US $64 for the same amount. Another reason it's cheaper is because there are generics available there that the drug companies here have managed to keep as brand only. The drug companies would love for you to believe otherwise. That being said it isn't safe to buy from anyone who's willing to sell it without a rx - in or out of the US. As for legality, Canadian drugstores openly sell to Americans and ship here with no trouble. Ask yourself whose going to interfere with it ?

Depends on which pharmacy you shop through. If you have a prescription and you purchase from a major online pharmacy (CVS, Walgreens, etc.) it's totally legal. Importing drugs from overseas is not, though. You can usually get away with it because foreign pharmacies are pretty clandestine about their shipping and packing methods, but there still remains the question of quality. Some foreign pharmacies have been known to send drugs of poor quality--or even outright fakes--to people that order online. And if you're caught buying drugs without a prescription, you could be looking at jail time.

I doubt it could ever be legal because there is no way to regulate it.

I mean, I'm not saying our pharmacies here in Canada are bad or our drugs are bad, but associated with a prescription are precautions to make sure you get what you need and how much you need not more. Some drugs can be abused.

If you don't have a valid prescription from a real doctor, then it's NOT legal.

And you DON'T get what you've paid for with these online pharmacies. Any place that will sell you a so-called prescription drug without a prescription is NOT selling you the real drug.

But you can be charged with prescription fraud just the same. It's a felony.
