Please no anti-drugs bs. I don't do cocaine anymore. I went into rehab 2 years ago and have been clean since. I just want to settle this arguement me and my friend are having (she does coke so you can tell her off if you want). So, is the numbing quality of a batch of coke indicative of it's purity? Is it directly proportional to it's purity? 10 points for most informative answer. Thanks

Thanks for all your answers. My friend uses cocaine one or twice a month and has done so for the last 5 years I have known her. I doubt she is at risk from an overdose (death cause directly by cocaine abuse is extremely rare). She is aware of the mental, emotional and physical damage that cocaine abuse can cause having known me when I was using it frequently. Fortunately the drug does not seem to have any of these adverse effects for her. I have, of course, advised her to quit. But she doesn't want to and sees no reason to at the present time. I honestly think there are people to whom taking cocaine is not too much of a problem. That may be an incredibly dangerous statement to make to the youth of today, but it does not mean it isn't true. I am sure neither my friend nor I are in denial about this. We have literally about 70 friends who use cocaine infrequently and have not become addicted. A few as they have got older have just grown out of it.

I guess I said anti-drugs bs because if you ask anything about drugs you get people ranting at you without even bothering to answer your question. If you tell people your friend uses cocaine they assume she is some kind of junkie. You can use drugs without being addicted to them. Just like you can drink alcohol without being an alcoholic. Also I think trying to scare people by telling them they will die from cocaine abuse when very, very few people do (even compared to alcohol related deaths) does not help anybody. Least of all me. I know who I am and where I stand on drugs already having had a lot more experience with them than some of the people on here. For the record, I use NO drugs these days and I think marijuana is MORE dangerous and destructive than cocaine. However I would advise people not to take either.

I realise your advice and concern comes from a good place, so thank-you. And thanks for taking the time to read this

There's too many variances in cocaine usage...depends on alot of factors like ....how much you take, how you take, physical condition, pure, unpure etc...

I do know that it drops your blood pressure, which does lead to numbness. (also from nerve damage)

Cocaine usage affects all organs...even skin.

EDIT:
Don't fall asleep while feeling numbness...the heart may stop.

The most beneficial answer that you could provide your friend with is a high recommendation to a drug rehabilitation program. If you are in recovery, its surely not a worthy discussion on your behalf. In the process of recovery, its ideal to fine "new associates" who are about keeping you in recovery.

There is nothing that you can "debate" with an addict. There is enough to try to get an addict to realize and most importantly "admit" that they have a problem. What will they take away from the "debate" ? The overall goal is to get HIGH at any cost.

Keep yourself focused on Recovery

The straw sounds well for useful explanations and could I endorse "Iced" for safeguard explanations. The I.V. even as it could sound attractive might want specialised help that might make it price much more than Starbucks. Oops... Lucy has a well factor, adequate, iced however from a cup. You''ll have got to manage the dribble I'm afraid

lol.

Logically speaking I'm sure that it depends what impurities are in the coke.

Being anti hard drugs like cocaine is not quite b.s. tho. If your friend dies one day from an overdose, let me know if that's b.s. Its great that you managed to clean yourself up; doubt that was easy. (Marijuana and hash are different of course. Mary Jane takes a few years in large quanties to kill you cancer. I'm not sure effects of hash.)
