I'm watching Diet Doctors and they've said this woman burns only 200 calories per day. Surely however inactive you are your bodily processes burn more than this! They said to maintain her weight she'd only be able to eat 200 cals a day! WHAT?!

Merely living i.e. breathing, your intestines contracting, your heart beating, repairing cells etc etc. uses 70 calories an hour. It's physically impossible - maybe they meant she only burnt 200 calories a day on top of the 70 an hour, from the amount of movement she makes (when compared to someone lying in bed all day).

I think eating food burns more then 200 calories per day. I agree with you that even if you are inactive you would burn more then that

If you stayed in bed and did nothing all day you would still burn up 650 calories by breathing and having your blood circulating. If she was only burning 200 calories a day she would be about to die.

you burn 2000+ cals a day just by being alive.
maybe you misheard and they said somehting along the lines of burning 200 cals a day in exercise...is only a 2 mile run and quite achievable.
