Hi, this may seem outlandish to some but if u can answer it would b greatly appreciated (without any judgemental comments pls :)
Basically I eat dates and thats it, dates and water.Sometimes though Ill eat just dried fruits. I seem 2 lose weight like this (not intentional). I just have this thing from way back where i can only have a main food to eat and survive on that give or take a few allowances now and again. Does anyone else do this? What have u found happens? Is it ok to survive on dates - gives me diarrhea but thats all good cos i used to suffer from constipation.I dont know why im obsessed with dates its just that i have to have it and i cant/wont have normal meals or normal food.Sometimes id mix condiments and eat that.My food habits are odd but anyway...dates. Any input?

Totally unhealthy. Dates as a snack are good but as far as total health, no way. Your body, if not yet , will start to have issues ie. vitamin, iron, potassium defiencies, etc. or major complications from the lack of food and/or nutrition.

add honey, tastes good and has many nutritions and antioxidants.

diarrhea isn't good though. you will get mal-nurititioned. You should be having regular bowel movements. Having diarrhea is as dangerous as having constipation. I would suggest that add some roughage. Like spinach, red cabbage, or a type of grain that you feel comfortable with. Oatmeal, bran, raisin.

I understand what you are doing, I think. When I was 19 Itried to fast with only consuming water. After 3 weeks I fainted. So I drank water and ate raisins and 1 banana a day. I did that for 5 months. I felt cleansed. I've never did it again. But it did something to me, physically and mentally. I'm just concerned about you having diarhea. That means that your intestines aren't working the way they are suppose to be. And you aren't helping them but just eat one food. Add honey and a fiber and a fruit or vege.

Hi,
It is not healthy in anyway to only eat dried fruits. You will not get the nutrience from fruit alone for your body to be healthy. You can not survive alone with only this. You honestly should see a doctor about this to make sure you don't have any kind of an eating disorder. I say this with sincerity.
To be healthy you need some of the all of the food groups, not nessesarily the junk food, but you do need calcium for your bones and teeth to be healthy, you need protien such as beans, if you don't like meat, you need to make sure you are getting all that God created us to get into our bodies.
YOu will loose wieght with only dried fruits because your body is not getting enough of what it needs, your body also needs fats to live. You should look up on the internet about what you can eat to be healthy. If you want to be a vegitarian, there are healthy diets with that as well. If all you crave are dried fruits, your body might be craving nutrients it is lacking, but honestly, I would go and be completly honest with your doctor.
God bless.

ahh, I hate dates, anyway I don't think dates and water give you all the nutrients/vitamins that you need. If that's your thing you should at least take a supplement (if you arent taking one already)
that's really weird though...no offense.
