I‘m of the opinion that dogs are better than cats. Both pets have their good and bad qualities, such as cats need very little attention and don’t need baths, dogs on the other hand love and thrive to be around you and just well, LOVE you to bits! Furthermore Cats are highly adaptable and can become feral, whereas dogs cannot survive on their own without the interference of humans. This may signify "weakness," but it also shows just how close the dog-human relationship is. If IN any case the bond between human and dog far exceeds that of human and cat. Part of the reason is that dogs are pack animals and strive in a group. Most cats could care less

Also If you stop to think……. about the entire idea of cats using the litter box its a little gross: you stick the litter box in an obscure, hidden area of your house, but its still in your house, and your cat is, essentially, urinating and excreting in your house. And the waste stays there until the litter box is cleaned, too (not like a toilet, where one can just flush it down). Can you imagine all the odour bacteria eminating from that litter box *shudders* Yuck.

So my opinion rest on the dogs side! Loyal to the bitter end and full contentment and unconditional love!

Well..it seems that you have just answered your own question! But, I do agree with you on this. I guess it does depend on the "person" that is wanting a pet as to which would be best for them. I think that people that don't have as much time to devote...for things like bathing, walking, etc., are probably better off with cats. But personally, most cats that I've been around are so un-predictable and the way most of them like to take their claws and "knead" you really creeps me out. Also most seem to be very finicky. I've never really bonded with a cat...it seems that dogs are more apt to show their "emotions" and therefore, they tend to feel more like a family member to me. And I love how they are so loyal to their master. I can see where the "man's best friend" comes from. My sheltie is always by my side, whether I am sitting here at the computer and she is at my feet(lile she is right now) or if I am in the shower...she sits outside the tub and "waits" for me and seems to be interested in everything I do....from watching me put on my make-up to dressing. I guess dogs just act more like humans, if you will. It's like they seem to understand what's going on more. I'm sure that alot of cat lover's would strongly disagree with some of what I have said, but this is only my personal opinion...and experience. I did have a little white kitten once that I really liked..but she acted more like a dog....go figure! And yes, the unconditional love...it's awesome. My boyfriend is jealous of my dog. He says that I give her more attention than I do him! Guess it's true to some extent..but she never seems to disagree with me and is always loving and kind...not as moody as him! Some days I'd much rather spend time with her than him....sad, huh? Guess my opinion rests on the dog's side as well!

Definitely Dogs because they are not only pets but they are also good in guarding your house when you are not there. Cats on the contrary are useless except they put up a big show. Cats are also thrifty and they help themselves up.

i have to agree with you. i have cleaned houses before and you can smell immediatly if they have a cat and it stinks. i like cats but prefer dogs over cats any day! litter boxes are gross. think about this too they use it in there cover it with their paws and then jump on your counter where you prepare food...YUCK!!! so i guess i will say DOGS DOGS DOGS!!! oh and the breed i like is dachshunds sweet cuddly not yi[ie or nippie. playful not hyper.great breed!
